• LURE combines two of the most popular and superior performing lines in the Yorkshire breed.  Based on progeny performance LURE’s sire, SGI 287 Lars, is the top ranking Yorkshire sire in three countries (United States, Sweden and Canada).  He is the top ranking Terminal Sire in the 1993 Yorkshire Crossherd Sire Summary with an index of 152.1 and is ranked fourth in EPDS for Backfat (-0.11) and third in EPDS for Days (-5.86). 
• The sire of LURE’s dam is the immortal Ulf who ranked first in SPI, Maternal Line Index and EPDS for Litter Weight; second in EPDS for Backfat and Born Live and third in Terminal Sire Index in the January 1993 Yorkshire Crossherd Sire Summary. 
• LURE’s dam also has a phenomenal performance record ranking 22^nd out of over 51,000 sows in the 1^st Yorkshire Sow Summary published in August 1992.  She has the following remarkable lifetime record:  17 born live (EPD 0.940) 11.0 weaned, 137 lb 21-day litter weight (EPD 5.96) and SPI of 118.1. 
• LURE is from a litter of 14 born live, 10 after transfer, 10 weaned and 150 lb 21-day litter weight. 
• LURE has had the top index, fewest days to 105 kg, lowest backfat and 2^nd largest loin eye in his contemporary group.  He is from an outstanding litter with the 12 pigs scanned averaging 144.5 days to 230, 0.57 backfat and 6.76 LEA. 
• LURE is a long bodied, extremely lean boar that has good natural width of body and excellent muscle expression.  He is a heavy boned, big-footed boar; yet is long-faced, long-necked and maternal in overall appearance.  He has an outstanding underline, excellent testicle size and produces a large amount of high quality semen. 
• The only reason we are able to get LURE out of Comparts SPF herd at Princeton is because they wanted to use semen from him in their other herds.  We certainly share their confidence in his potential to produce superior Yorkshires or white line females that can excel in performance, cutability and in the farrowing house.
