ND5 NAUTILUS 68-1

• Nautilus was the Champion Boar at the 1995 National Barrow Show.  He is from an outstanding litter with a littermate boar standing second behind him in the tremendous late March class proclaimed by many to be one of the most powerful and deepest boar classes ever at the National Barrow Show.  The four boars in the litter averaged 153 Days to 230, 0.50 Bf and 7.08 LEA.  Four littermate gilts scanned an average of 0.47 BF and 7.65 LEA. 
• At Austin, Nautilus scanned a mere 0.58 BF with 8.18 LEA at 270 lb while his littermate had 0.62 BF and 8.58 LEA also at 270 lb. 
• Nautilus is bred to excel in muscle; particularly loin eye are.  His sire Body Builder 38-2, sired the Champion Carcass at the Buchanan County Fair that had 0.49 BF, 9.06 LEA and 62.54% lean at 255 lb.  Three market hogs sired by Body Builder 38-2 slaughtered at FDL had the following average cutout at 233 lb:  32.0 length, 0.37 BF and 7.57 LEA.  
• On the dam side of Nautilus, SGI 1132 Nathan offspring are noted for their large, deep loin eyes as well as superior leanness.  The Grand Champion Barrow in the 4-H show at the Iowa State Fair was also a combination of Nathan and Body Builder genetics.  He had cutout of 32.0 length, 0.40 BF, 7.30 LEA.  The great breeding boar, Radical, also appears on both sides of Nautilus’ pedigree. 
• Nautilus is a well-extended, long-bodied boar that has phenomenal shape down his top, a big thick rump and very thick muscular ham.  He is very clean fronted yet bold shouldered with good spring o rib.  A sound, free wheeling boar with an excellent underline; Nautilus has excellent style and balance.  He is from a litter of 9 farrowed, 9 weaned with 138 lb litter weight and again is backed by the very strong maternal performance of the Nathan line. 
• With his added frame size, very juvenile look at 6 1/2 months, yet tremendous muscle; Nautilus is a rare one that can produce highly productive females, high performing boars with superior lean content as well as show pigs with the muscle, style and balance that it takes to win.
