• At 0.25 B.F. this is the leanest York boar and the 3^rd leanest boar ever to stand at SGI (behind Pedro and Alpine). 
• Our interest in this boar, however goes beyond his phenotype.  While the immediate pedigree may not indicate the line breeding present in this hog, Alzar compiles some of the most impressive AMERICAN genetics available in a focused gene pool.  The “Crank High 101-1”  boar appears six times in the immediate pedigree as well as genetic powerhouses such as California 80-3 and Crank High 27-2 as contributors to Alzar’s family tree.  The uniqueness of this boar’s pedigree is that each individual was selected based on the siring power of “101-1”.  ALZAR, in Spanish, means to rebel or raise up. 
• Based on this boar’s ancestry of big-framed, clean-made hogs that live to breed on their muscularity and leanness, we believe that he may be the next leader of a rebellion.  Although his tremendous expression and muscularity makes him an ideal terminal sire we believe he can be used easily as a dual-purpose sire.
