JDI1 DOUBLEMINT 49-7

• DOUBLEMINT is a double bred Mandate.  His dam is by Mandate and a full sister to Estate, the 1990 Expo Reserve Champion Boar.  Estate sired the $25,000 Champion Boar and $3,000 Champion Gilt at the 1991 World Pork Expo. 
• DOUBLEMINT’s sire is also a son of Mandate and a full brother to the top selling boar at the 1990 Autumn Classic, Mandate 11-7.  In addition to Estate and Mandate 11-7, other outstanding sons of Mandate include Real Time, Update, Mandare, Committed, RH( Mandate 4-4 and SDF9 Mandate 157-2.  Mandate has certainly passed his superior performance (115 days 230), leanness (0.52 BF) and muscle (6.65 LEA) to his sons and grandsons as evidenced by the fact that the above listed sons have consistently sired high performing pens in central tests stations. 
• DOUBLEMINT is from a litter of 10 born live and 10 weaned.  His dam just recently produced a litter of 12 born live and 12 weaned.  The six full sisters to Estate (including DOUBLEMINT’s dam) have an average SPI of 113.6. 
• DOUBLEMINT’s maternal granddam has lifetime SPI of 127 with 9.6 born live, 8.6 weaned, 2.29 litters per year and 19.8 pigs per sow per year based on five parities.  The first thing you note when visiting the Johnson’s herd is the consistent heaviness of structure and bone throughout the herd. 
• DOUBLEMINT is a stout made, very heavy boned boar with a big bold shoulder blade and good spring of rib.  He is a remarkably clean topped boar that is very level designed.  He has a particularly good rump structure with an extra high tail setting. 
• When viewed from the rear, DOUBLEMINT has a very expressive, muscular ham that would really excite any barrow show exhibitor. 
• DOUBLEMINT looks a great deal like Mandate did when purchased by SGI.  With his linebred genetic makeup, we are confident he will be a consistent sire of lean, muscular, heavy structured hogs. 
• He is certainly a "double pleasure" that can work either as a sire of superior breeding stock or show winning barrow.
