• RB Cedar 129-1 was one of the most consistent sires of extra muscle and bone of any Duroc boar to stand at SGI.  When it became apparent that his days were numbered due to an injury and subsequent development of an abscess, we began searching for a son to replace this popular sire.  We were pleased to find an outstanding son from an outstanding litter. 
• SEQUOIA was the Reserve Champion Boar at the Iowa State Fair while another son of RB Cedar 129-1 was the Champion Boar. 
• SEQUOIA's littermate was the very popular $5800 R&H boar in the youngest class at the Duroc Congress that sold to Guy Jackson.  Two other littermate boars are working in the Mc Grew-Lister and Don Smith Duroc herds and two powerful gilts remain at Rouse & Hodson's. 
• Like his sire, SEQUOIA is a very lean, muscular, extra heavy boned boar but in a bigger package.  He is a thick shouldered, level designed boar with a long, level rump and a high tail setting.  He is a long necked, heads up boar that is extremely aggressive and has excellent testicle size. 
• SEQUOIA is from a litter of 8 farrowed, 8 weaned, and an outstanding 149 lb litter weight. 
• We feel that SEQUOIA is a very versatile boar that can produce herd boars, productive replacement females, or barrows that will excel on foot and on the rail.
