Farrer’s watched two powerful boars grow up in a January 1987 litter out of Spot 15-1 and an SGI Product dam. These boars had excellent and almost identical performance figures as well as being very similar in design.

Royal Sport was retained as a herd boar and the littermate was the Reserve Champion Boar at the Indiana State Fair.

SGI purchased an interest in Royal Sport to keep the SGI Product line available. Product was the $9,500 NBS Hog College Boar in 1983 that did an excellent job of producing lean, meaty, fast growing offspring for SGI customers. On the top side, Royal Sport’s sire, DK Sport 15-1, sired the top scoring individual out of over 200 head of market hogs in Purdue University’s All Industry Special Test just recently completed. This pig gained 3.08 lb per day from 75 to 230 lb and produced 1.03 lb of lean per day on test. Two other barrows sired by DK Sport 15-1 gained 2.68 and 2.44 in this test. All five of the boars in Royal Sport’s litter scanned over 6.0 sq in of loin eye.
