• West Point is a grandson of the outstanding SGI boar, Farand, whose offspring excelled in structural soundness, sow productivity, breeding aggressiveness and semen volume and quality. 
•  West Point is somewhat bigger scaled than many Hampshires today, yet is a naturally thick made and heavy-structured boar. 
• He is a very level and flexible in his top structure and has a long rump with a high tail setting.  The 28 littermates and half-sister gilts at Elkhorn Valley were the most impressive set of Hampshire females we have had the opportunity to see in terms of soundness, length combined with natural width, correctness of design and levelness of top, heaviness of structure and underline quality. 
• West Point is backed by a Hampshire herd selected for generations for superior sow productivity.  Hampshire sows are routinely used to produce F1 York-Hamp females at Elkhorn Valley.  These females have excelled in the farrowing house for their owners as well as having consistently produced offspring that bring a premium in the grade and yield market. 
• West Point has an excellent underline of 14 prominent teats and is from a litter of 10 farrowed, 8 alive and 8 weaned.  His 137 days to 230, 0.70 BF and 127.3 Estimated Breeding Value were all among the very best in his contemporary group.
