We watched CHAROLAIS and his littermates grow and develop from birth. This litter was one of the best we have ever seen from top to bottom. It contained three big, stout, fast growing yet lean boars and eight broody, sound, extra wide, rugged gilts. The three boars averaged 144 days to 230 lb. 0.73 BF, and 5.56 LEA. R&R kept two outstanding gilts from the litter and two were exhibited at the World Pork Expo where they were very popular because of their extra width of body, bone, and foot size. The remaining four gilts were exported to Mexico, Korea, and Japan.

CHAROLAIS is from a litter of 11 farrowed, 11 weaned with a 181 lb litter weight at 24 days. His dam has farrowed 31 pigs and weaned 30 in her first three litters and has the highest BVSPI, 106.3, in the herd.

Like his sire, CHAROLAIS is a tremendously heavy boned, big-footed Landrace boar. He is extra long, wide, and deep bodied with an abundance of muscle on a big, loose, heavy structured skeleton.
-
CHAROLAIS has a medium ear, good testicle size, and a prominent, well-spaced underline. Adam, Fast Al, and Morgan have started a tradition at SGI of fast growing, stout made, extra durable Landrace with the superior mothering ability that has made Landrace popular in the farrowing house.

We feel CHAROLAIS will carry on this tradition.
